This is the feature you’ve asked for more than any other. I’m really happy to finally say: real-time correction preview is here.

You can now see a preview of the corrected composition before you press the shutter, with the view updating as you move your phone.

For Plumb, this is a big update. Until now, you had to take a photo to see how perspective correction would change your framing. Now, you can make those decisions while you’re still composing the shot.

See the correction. Then take the shot.

Correcting perspective doesn’t just straighten a building’s vertical lines. It changes what fits in the frame, too.

With real-time correction preview enabled, you can see those changes in the viewfinder. Is the roof getting too close to the edge? Does the building need a little more breathing room? You can adjust your framing right there, rather than discover it after taking the photo.

The preview helps you compose; it’s still worth checking the final image after capture. But there’s much less guesswork along the way.

I built Plumb because I wanted to spend more time looking at architecture and less time fixing photos afterward. Being able to see the correction while shooting feels like a meaningful step toward that.

An improved photo editor layout

There are a couple of smaller updates in this release, too.

I’ve rearranged the photo editor to make it easier to view your image and work with the editing controls. Nothing dramatic—just a more comfortable place to make those final adjustments.

Meet Sunlit

Sunlit is the newest addition to Plumb’s filter collection. You’ll find it in the photo editor, where you can try it on a photo and compare it with the original.

To everyone who asked for a live preview, explained why it mattered, or kept checking whether it was coming: thank you. I know some of you have been waiting a while.

It’s finally here in Plumb 1.0.4, and I’d love to hear how it feels on your next shoot.
